Include a Charity Week 2023: The Impact of Leaving a Gift in Will

If you have ever wanted to leave a lasting legacy by pledging a Gift in your Will (also known as a bequest) to charity, you may be interested to learn more about the 2023 Include a Charity Week.

Did you know that bequests are one of the most significant funding sources for life-changing medical research and innovative equipment that can help to improve patient outcomes not only now, but for generations to come?

You might find it surprising, but it is true.

Some of our generous supporters who have left us a gift in their Will have contributed to incredibly consequential pieces of equipment for the hospital and our research labs, and studies to improve outcomes for many.

In this blog, we explain what Include a Charity Week is and how funding from bequests can have significant impacts on the lives of many.

We also share details of our partnership with Gathered Here – Australia’s top-rated will-writing platform, and how you can access this will-writing service through The Common Good, an initiative of The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, completely free.

What is Include a Charity Week?

Include a Charity Week is a social change campaign by the Fundraising Institute of Australia.

It runs from the 4th to the 10th of September in 2023 and aims to encourage more people to consider leaving a legacy for a charitable cause they care deeply about.

The initiative hopes to broaden the positive impact charities can have on today’s society and for future generations.

The Impact of Leaving a Legacy to The Common Good

You can have a profoundly life-changing impact for many by choosing to leave a gift to The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation in your Will.

Your legacy can help to support:

  • Revolutionary research that could improve the quality of life for people impacted by heart disease, lung disease, mental health and dementia. This research has the power to change lives, and in some cases, may even save lives.
  • Cutting-edge equipment for our research labs to help expedite research outcomes and breakthroughs.
  • Equipment and upgrades to enhance patient care and amenity at The Prince Charles Hospital and Caboolture Hospital.

The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation partners with Gathered Here

Like you, we understand the importance of ensuring your family is provided for first and above all else.

However, after this, you may feel that a gift to The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation for research or other patient care initiatives is a meaningful, positive and profound way to leave a legacy and impact others in the future.

We have recently partnered with Australia’s top-rated Will-writing platform, Gathered Here – an online platform that provides an easy and free step-by-step will-writing service, and we are proud to offer this service to our community, completely free.

Plus, it can take less than 10 minutes to write your legally binding will, and you will have unlimited, lifetime updates to your Will, should your circumstances change, or you wish to amend your wishes.

You can get started on preparing your Will here.
