The Prince Charles Hospital’s 2025 Giving Day

We are so grateful to everyone who supported our 2025 Giving Day, raising more than $162,000 for The Prince Charles Hospital.

This is a remarkable achievement and will have a significant impact on patients and families who visit the hospital in their time of need.

This year was our fifth annual Giving Day, and our theme was ‘care for the hospital that cares for you.’

Funds raised in 2025 will allow 1,000 comfort packs to be provided to vulnerable patients who suddenly end up in hospital, without time to pack their belongings. These packs include essentials such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, hand lotion, fresh shorts, and a puzzle book—small items that can make a big difference in patients’ recovery.

In 2025, funds may also contribute to other things, like enhancing hospital spaces and powering research into conditions like lung and heart disease.

The Prince Charles Hospital’s 2025 Giving Day

The area outside The Café for The Common Good was again transformed into a hub of activity on Wednesday, October 22, for the hospital’s fifth Giving Day.

Among the highlights were visits from the Chermside Fire Station, the on-site childcare centre, The Prince Charles Early Education Centre, and three adorable bunnies from Amazing Animals to You.

The marketplace was back for the fourth year, with DJ Dennis from the hospital’s physio department to entertain the crowd and three food trucks to delight the hospital staff, including Roll It Ice Cream Co, CharKOR BBQ and Brat Haus German Sausages.

There were many stalls with other wares on offer too, such as Angelisa Jewellery, Stone & Lea, GrammiesCreations, The Food Imposter, Morton Bay Women’s Shed, Forever Living, CraftyVibes, Norwex and Jojo and Lola.

Plus, for the first time, there were live 5-minute portrait drawings by Soru Soru Studio.

It takes a village to make Giving Day a success

Giving Day proves what’s possible when our wonderful community bands together!

Our first four Giving Days have transformed care for countless patients and families by funding several significant projects, including Charlie’s Village, a village-like space and a calming sensory garden in the outdoor area of the Cognitive Assessment and Management (CAM) Unit.

Other initiatives funded include Memory Lane, healing ceilings and the Kids retreat. You can read more about the impacts of past Giving Days here.

In 2025, we not only reached our $100,000 Giving Day goal, but we surpassed it by over $60,000! This is a remarkable feat, and we could not have done this alone.

This year, we are beyond grateful to our matched-funding partners—including Vince Lester OAM and Mary Lester, Maureen Stevenson, Airport Retail Group, Matland Group, Findex, and many generous supporters—who enabled public donations to be doubled.

We were also joined on site by 25 corporate and 31 community volunteers, including representatives from Suncorp, Newscorp, Headbox, Edwards Lifesciences, CPB, Matland, and Ooh Media. This year’s volunteers helped with a range of tasks like setting up for the event and calling our generous donors to thank them for their kindness.

A range of community groups and local businesses also showed their support for our annual Giving Day by fundraising and spreading the word. A special thanks to The Gibson, Aspley Hornets, Muscle Garden, Guppy’s Early Learning Centre, Fitzgibbon Early Learning Child Care and Siblings Early Learning.

This year, we also had several partners who kindly donated products and services, such as Spotlight, Big W and Kmart.

We appreciate everyone who showed they care for this wonderful community hospital at our fifth annual Giving Day. Thank you again!

Giving Day may be over but you can still support comfort packs and programs like this by making a donation here.
