Shout A Health Hero... a coffee!

Healthcare workers given cup of appreciation as they fight COVID-19.

The Common Good is calling for an act of kindness from their local communities to help tackle Coronavirus – all without having to leave home and for the price of a coffee.

Launched this week, The Shout A Health Hero campaign will see up to 4,000 people from two major hospitals provided with donations of coffee, to perk their spirits as they continue to grapple with the impact of COVID-19.

The CEO of The Common Good Michael Hornby said Coronavirus had placed the spotlight on the all the all frontline health workers , and it may be something we don’t yet realise.

“Workers in hospital are here for us in so many ways every single day; doctors, nurses, wardies and admin staff are always putting patients before themselves. We have to remember these healthcare workers are people with their own families have their own worries and challenges at home like the rest of us during this pandemic,” he said.

“A coffee may not sound like much but it’s more than that; they are uplifted when they know the community is behind them.”

Coffee will be distributed to workers by the onsite cafes operated by The Common Good, the charity connected with The Prince Charles Hospital and Caboolture Hospital, that uses the cafes profits to fund research into diseases like Coronavirus.

Donations are tax deductible.

You can help a healthcare hero at your local hospital and support a charity at the same time.
