The Common Good has a number of events you can get involved with during the annual calendar. Take up the challenge to ride 110km in support of organ transplant research, become a 'Scooper Hero' and volunteer at the legendary EKKA Strawberry Sundae Stalls, or simply nominate The Common Good (or Prince Charles Hospital Foundation) as your beneficiary charity at events like Bridge to Brisbane or City to Surf.
We are proud to announce that the 20th ECHO Australia Conference will be held as a face-to-face event on 14-16 February 2022 (please note date change).
For the very first time, the event will be held on the Gold Coast, at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Each year the ECHO Australia conference hosts an esteemed faculty of expert speakers, to deliver new and refreshed presentations highlighting the strengths and limitations of traditional echocardiographic techniques, the latest echocardiographic advances, and the application of these technologies in the diagnosis and assessment of various cardiac diseases.
As in previous year’s, profits from the ECHO Australia Conference will directly fund medical research for Australia’s most chronic illnesses, such as heart disease and lung disease, through The Common Good.
The Common Good are holding their inaugural Giving Day on Wednesday 20 October with all funds going to The Prince Charles Hospital. Money raised will fund patient support programs, state of the art equipment and other key projects that will improve the quality of care and well-being for the community.
All donations on the day will be matched, doubling their impact! For example, a gift of $50 will become $100, thanks to the kind contributions of people who have pledged their support already.

Unfortunately, Ekka has been cancelled for 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It is only the fourth time in the Ekka’s 145-year history that the show has been cancelled. Ensuring the health and safety of our community is paramount and we fully support the decision to cancel this year’s event.
For 34 years Ekka has been so good to us, and the contribution of volunteers has been the secret ingredient that makes it possible to support medical research. We would like to thank all those who had registered to volunteer at this year's event.
We’re so sorry we can’t see you at Ekka this year – and thank you again for your support – it means so much.
