The Cycle of Giving is Queensland's premier charity bike ride raising funds for organ transplant research, held on Sunday 10 March 2019. The event hopes to raise over $250,000 to fund life-saving and life-changing research supported by The Common Good.
Right now in Australia, there are around 1,400 people on the organ transplant waiting list. Through research funded by the Cycle of Giving, it is hoped that more people will not only get a second chance at life through transplant, but also a chance to return home and thrive.
This research time is critical - for every $44 raised, another hour of medical research can occur.
100% of the funds of the funds raised throughout the Cycle of Giving will be spread across ground breaking projects including preventing lung transplant rejection, making more hearts available for transplant through new donor heart storage methods, developing more devices to keep hearts beating and even preventing the need for heart transplant all together.
Every single rider and donor has the power to make an incredible impact on the lives of worthy Queenslanders. So challenge yourself to make a difference, set a fundraising goal and get your family and friends behind you as you ride for organ transplant research.
